Basic Instructions:
1. Using the 1" flat brush and Cloud White patio
paint, completely base coat the inside and outside of all three pots. If coverage
is not complete, reapply and let completely dry. (If you wish to plant live plants
in the pots, the pots must be sealed with the Clear Coat patio paint and let dry
thoroughly).
2. Cut apart the stencils using scissors. Apply spray
adhesive to the back of the stencils and allow to dry until tacky. Position the stencil on
the rim of the pot and on the front of the pot. Use the low-tack masking tape to secure
the edges of the stencils.
3. Squeeze a few drops of Glorious Gold patio
paint onto a paper plate. With one of the 3/8" artists brush, lightly
pick up a small amount of Glorious Gold patio paint onto the brush
and blot excess off onto paper towel. Then, lightly dab color onto the cut out
areas of the stencil.
4. When you have finished painting the first
side of the pot, allow to dry completely, then re-tape the stencils to the
opposite side and repeat the above process. Then paint a ¼" wide band
of gold around the top rim of each pot and let
dry thoroughly. (Be sure to make the band ¼" on both the inside and the outside of
the rim).
5. Cut the foam board into circles that will
fit into the interior of each of the pots. This will hold the smaller pots up
while giving you a base to secure your silk flowers and beads.
6. In the foam board for the top pot, cut a hole
just large enough to hold the candle securely in place. (Note: To secure
the candle in place, push the top of the candle through the
bottom of the foam board. Other methods will make the hole too large).
7. Finish your centerpiece by stacking the
6" pot inside of the 8" pot and by stacking the
4" pot inside of the 6" pot. Some adjusting and/or trimming of the
foam board in the bottom pot may be necessary to straighten the look.
