More Stenciling Tips
Secure the stencil to the surface you want to stencil
with masking tape, or stencil spray adhesive. Hold the stencil securely in place
while you work, using the thumb and index finger of your non-brush hand.
|
Load your brush with a LIGHT dab or swirl into the
paint. It takes very little paint to stencil a clear print. Too much
paint on your brush can cause a ridge of paint on the edges of the design or harsh brush
marks
|
Distribute the paint into your brush before painting by
swirling with pressure on an uncut part of the stencil. Brush off any excess
paint on a paper towel.
|
Hold your brush perpendicular to the surface you are stenciling and use a swirling circular
motion to lightly apply paint. Work from the uncut part of the
stencil into the cut-out designs, leaving a hint a color.
|
Shade a design not by using more paint, but by
using more pressure. Swirl around the edge of the design going over both the stencil
& the area to be painted.
|
Using a separate brush for each color, you can add
colors to any part of a design. Easy Blend Stencil Paint will blend together right
on the surface as you work.
|
Stenciling with more than one color
Mask off areas of the stencil not to be painted the same color with tape.
|
Use a piece of index card to shield areas of different color.
|
Let colors blend into surrounding areas to create a more "artistic" look.
